Candida Die Off

Candida die off. This is normal process that happens when we take measures to reduce the overgrowth of candida in our system.

Excessive candida in our intestinal tracts can cause inflammation and hyper permeability in our intestinal tract. This results in our intestinal barrier not functioning as well as it should, which can lead to particles crossing from the intestines into the blood stream inappropriately and causing an immune response. All of which is not in our best interest!

So when we eliminate excessive candida, the organisms die off. They are eliminated by the body, in particular the liver. The liver is the organ which metabolizes waste and secretes it into the intestinal tract to be eliminated in the feces.

When the liver is overworked, any additional burdens will take a toll. This may result in the individual experiencing perhaps a headache, feeling as if they are catching the flu, needing extra sleep and being tired in general. All of the things are possible, however they are actually a good thing. They indicate that the body is ridding pathogenic organisms, things that are harmful, and greater health is in store!

Typically, this die off does not last more than a few days, maybe a week. It is best to take care of oneself, lots of rest, clean water, wholesome foods, and whole food sources of vitamin C are most helpful.
