Early Symptoms Multiple Sclerosis

Early Symptoms Multiple Sclerosis, this is chronic degenerative disease of the central nervous system in which there is destruction in the myelin sheaths that encircle the nerves of the brain and or spinal cord.

This often results in muscular weakness, loss of coordination, speech and visual disturbances.

It is thought to be caused by a defect in the immune system.

Typically, the age of onset is between 20 to 40 years old, and more common in women than men.

Living in higher latitudes puts one at a greater risk for developing the disease, which suggests environmental factors play a role.

Paresthesias, which is a skin sensation such as burning, tickling, prickling, or itching, for no apparent physical cause, is the most frequent early symptom multiple sclerosis. This often occurs in the limbs, trunk, or face.

Visual disturbances, weakness of the hands or legs, problems walking, incontinence, vertigo or dizziness, are associated with early symptoms Multiple Sclerosis.

I have had success working with people with this type of immune dysfunction by balancing the intestinal tract and immune system. The first step in this process is to incorporate a healthy lifestyle.

Next, to restore normal function to the intestinal tract the use of digestive enzymes is often necessary.

A probiotic should be consumed on a daily basis.

Any dysbiosis should be corrected. This is done by eliminating excess candida or detrimental bacterial growth.

The intestinal barrier function should be optimized by the use of l-glutamine. I prefer it in a combination formula.

The immune system can be modulated by supplementing with polysaccharides that improve cellular communication.

A whole food multi vitamin and clean source of omega 3 essential fatty acid are always important for everyone's health.

This approach is nutritional in nature, or based on Naturopatic Medicine, and therefore different from what so many of us are used to with pharmaceuticals.

The goal of naturopathy is to address the reason the disease developed in the first place, and to correct on that level.

Time is of the essence. I always recommend to my patients that they utilize nutritional approaches for at least 4 to 6 months for a fair evaluation.

Many have been thrilled with the outcome!

Sincerely,

Dr. Kimberly Wiseman
