Fish Oil And Cholesterol

Considering fish oil and cholesterol is an important aspect of cardiovascular health in Naturopathic Medicine.

Our circulatory health is dependent on many factors. One of which is the health of our arteries.

When we have high levels of cholesterol, our arteries have an increased risk of becoming occluded, blocked.

This causes great stress on our cardiovascular system.

There are different aspects to the term cholesterol. When we speak of cholesterol levels, we are combining both good and bad cholesterol levels into that number.

Bad cholesterol is not beneficial to us because it helps to create the arterial blockage.

Good cholesterol, or HDL cholesterol, is so named because it helps to remove the bad cholesterol from our bodies.

Taking Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acids, which our bodies are unable to make, tends to dramatically increase the levels of good HDL cholesterol and lower the bad cholesterol!
