Probiotics Side Effects

Probiotics side effects. Our bodies have more organisms living in our intestinal tracts than we do cells in our entire body!

Granted, these organisms are often smaller than our cells, however that is a significant factor to consider.

We have developed a mutually beneficial relationship with many of the organisms in our GI tract.

Specifically the beneficial bacteria, which help us break down our food into absorbable nutrients, maintain an optimal pH balance, and compete for space with harmful pathogens in the GI.

Bacteria can be both beneficial and harmful, depending on the amount present.

If good bacteria becomes too abundant, it can cause problems.

Some of the bacteria living in our GI tracts does not have any beneficial properties, however when we can keep it's numbers in check with a healthy immune system and adequate competition for space with good bacteria, then it is not usually a problem.

Yeast or candida and some parasites also live in our GI tracks. This is just part of life.

The way to manage these organisms so they do not become problematic is to eat a good diet to encourage beneficial growth of bacteria, supplement with a high quality probiotic, and have a healthy functioning immune system.

Oh, another very important aspect is to not take antibiotics unless absolutely necessary.

Antibiotics tend to kill bacteria, both good and bad.

This creates a situation where pathogenic organisms can flourish because they lack competition.

Probiotics side effects, we really need to take a probiotic on a daily basis because if we are eating meat or dairy from animals that have been given antibiotics, we inadvertently get those in our systems and our GI flora react.

In other words, eating food from animals that have been given antibiotics kills good bacteria in intestinal tracts.

Another factor is the amount of good bacteria we get from foods is greatly reduced when we eat pasturized foods.

This process eliminates much of the bacteria that normally are present in foods.

Perhaps you are aware of the good bacteria we get from eating quality foods like yogurt, kefir, and miso. This is wise indeed.

In most people, the need for beneficial bacteria is to the point where they need to actually take a probiotic on an empty stomach daily.

My recommendation for a high quality probiotic is

InnateResponse Flora 20-14 Ultra Strength.
